It cant be good for a drive to spin down and up again multiple times every hour. no matter how I set my power settings for when to spin down the hard drives it doesn't affect the ones in this unit. So I was really looking forward to this and sadly it is a very frustrating piece of equipment. They are fantastic but I really wanted a 4 bay unit I could swap drives easily and often (the other units are enclosed and you need to attach handles to the drives before inserting them). Other Thoughts: I own 3 Mediasonic proboxes, 1 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0.
